Focus and Scope
Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and scholarly communications in the field of environmental health. The journal aims to provide a platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate scientific findings, innovations, and evidence-based approaches that contribute to the advancement of environmental health sciences and practices.
The journal publishes high-quality research addressing current issues, challenges, and developments in environmental health, including the prevention and control of environmental risks, improvement of public health conditions, and promotion of sustainable environmental management.
Manuscript submissions are open to researchers, academics, professionals, and practitioners worldwide. Submission is not limited to members of any particular institution. All manuscripts are evaluated based on their scientific quality, originality, relevance to the journal's scope, methodological rigor, and compliance with research and publication ethics.
Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan accepts the following types of manuscripts:

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, scientific validity, and ethical integrity of published articles.
Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated through an Initial Review Process by the Editorial Board. During this stage, the editors assess the manuscript's suitability with the journal's focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, originality, and general academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal requirements may be rejected at this stage.
Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant academic and professional expertise. The journal applies a Double-Blind Peer Review Process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several aspects, including:
- Originality and significance of the research;
- Scientific contribution and relevance to environmental health;
- Appropriateness of research methodology;
- Accuracy of data analysis and interpretation;
- Quality of discussion and conclusions;
- Compliance with ethical research and publication standards.
Based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations, authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts. Revised manuscripts may undergo further evaluation before reaching the final decision.
The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection is made by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board by considering the reviewers' evaluations and the overall quality of the manuscript.
The average duration of the review and publication process is approximately 24 weeks, depending on the complexity of the manuscript, reviewer availability, and the extent of revisions required.

Editor Responsibilities
Editors of Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan are responsible for:

Publisher Responsibilities

- Supporting corrections, clarifications, and retractions when required.

Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts to Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan are screened for plagiarism using appropriate plagiarism detection software before publication.
Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, or significant ethical violations will be rejected or handled according to COPE recommendations.
Correction and Retraction Policy
Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of published scientific records. The journal follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions.
Corrections may be issued when errors are identified in published articles that do not affect the overall validity of the research findings. Corrections will be published transparently and linked to the original article.
A retraction may be considered when an article contains serious errors, fabricated or falsified data, plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or other forms of publication misconduct that compromise the reliability of the scientific record.
Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Board and relevant parties. Retraction notices will clearly explain the reasons for retraction while maintaining transparency and protecting the integrity of the scholarly record.
Complaints and Appeals Policy
Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan welcomes complaints and appeals regarding editorial decisions, publication processes, or ethical concerns.
Complaints should be submitted to the Editorial Office with sufficient supporting information. All complaints will be handled objectively, confidentially, and in accordance with applicable ethical standards.
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by providing a clear explanation and scientific justification. Appeals will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board, and the final decision will be communicated to the authors.
Conflict of Interest Policy
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research process, peer review, or publication decisions.
Authors are required to disclose financial support, institutional relationships, or personal interests that may affect the interpretation of research findings.

Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan applies an Article Publication Fee (APC) for accepted manuscripts.

The payment process is conducted after the manuscript has passed the peer-review process and has been accepted for publication.
The payment of publication fees does not influence editorial decisions, peer-review outcomes, or acceptance decisions.

Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan has a long history of publishing scientific articles in the field of environmental health.

The journal obtained a print ISSN (1978-5763) from the Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI), based on Decree SK No. 0004.25/JI.3.02/SK.ISSN/2007.07, published for Volume 1 Number 1 on 16 July 2007. - 2017
The journal began publishing through an online journal management system. - 4 April 2017
The journal obtained an electronic ISSN (2579-3896) from LIPI. - 2017
The journal was indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). - 2017
The journal updated its author guidelines and editorial management system. - 2017
The journal obtained SINTA accreditation. - 2017
